Best Computer Deals Today

Here are some of the best computer deals we could find on the internet today. You'll have a hard time finding better prices for these computers. These computers offer great value for the price. Many of them come with everything you need to get up and running. Some are just the computer itself. You may have to purchase a keyboard, mouse, and monitor to use some of these computers.

This first set includes Dell Optiplex GX 270 computers. These are great machines for the money. Look for one that has a P4 processor over 2.4ghz. Be careful to avoid getting the Celeron processors. They are economy versions of the P4 chip. These are reason many computers are slow. Thankfully, many of the great deals I've found on Optiplex GX 270 desktops have P4 chips. These computers are great starter computers. At most, they may need an upgrade in RAM. I suggest a minimum of 1gb of RAM. See our "Bytes and bits" article under Tips for more information on RAM. Many of these GX 270 desktops only have 512mb of RAM. This is about 1/4 of my minimum recommendation. So, be prepared to purchase some extra RAM. To upgrade one of these computers to 2GB, you'll need to buy some PC3200 RAM. Another name for this RAM is 400Mhz DDR SDRAM. Below the computer listings, you'll find some good deals on this RAM.
